Quickbooks Pro 2007 Review
I have used Quicken for many years to keep my business checkbook and it worked fine for this task but I really wanted to do my payroll through the program so I purchased Quickbooks Pro 2007 which has a number of advantages over my old software but is more expensive and more difficult to master.

First, the payroll feature is on a subscription basis so you have to pay about $20 a month for it unless you are lucky enough to have an accountant that will allow you to piggyback off his subscription which I was. The payroll module works great and figures out all taxes and when to file them and keeps track of everything.

The main part of the accounting software uses accruaral accounting which is a little different than straight cash accounting. For my retail store this only means that you need to set up vendor accounts for each category of expense. Also, I realy like being able to put all vendor contact information in the program and print payables with the somewhat expensive voucher checks that cost extra. Paying bills is easier and printing them is a snap.

One final reason to consider this software is that most accountants use it to process business owners taxes so it is very convenient to
be able to email an accountants copy to them and have them be able to look at your entire file.

All in all I like the program. I resisted it for years because of cost but I do think it is worth it.
