I collect fine watches and decided to purchase a Stowa Marine watch to add to my collection. Ordering direct from Stowa was a snap and I received my watch quickly.
Movement:
The movement in the watch is ETA 2824. There is a Stowa mark on the rotor.
Case:
The case is made of steel which is nicely polished. It is supposed to be water resistant to 50 meters but I think you would be crazy to try this out with a watch that is really not a dive watch. At least I have some assurance that if I get wet the watch will be ok.
Crystal and Crown:
The crown has a Stowa mark on it and I really like the feel of it. High quality.
Dial and Hands:
The dial is large with a clean sophisticated look which is why I purchased it. The hands have a blue tint and are very easy to read.
Bracelet:
The watch came with a brown leather Stowa strap which I found very comfortable indeed. The buckle is polished and signed.
Accuracy:
The watch seems to run about 3 seconds fast per day. This has been consistent over the past 3 months so I believe this is a matter of just fine tuning the watch which I will do at some point.
Overall:
I am very happy with this watch. For the price which is around $600 I think is compares favorably with watches that run several times more for similar quality and workmanship.
I think it is an excellent value.
